BETTER THAN BEST. MarketWatch is the Wall Street Journal’s market news site. Given the extreme news saturation of our era, they were looking for a way to state their value more forcefully. I came up with a promise that is more powerful than “instant news.” Instead of being stuck in reactive mode, MarketWatch’s fast-breaking analysis can actually put you ahead of the game. Hence, “Get ahead of now,” which MarketWatch began using for other applications as well. They even ran huge animated versions on lighted billboards in Times Square and other high visibility locations.
Also, I’m proud to say, our team came up with this look before “Mad Men” popularized it.
